George P. Miller, 85, of Pequannock, passed away on December 27, 2017.
Born in Paterson, George grew up in Wyckoff and was a graduate of Ramsey High School. He proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War and later earned his BS in engineering from Farleigh Dickinson University in 1959. He enjoyed a long and successful engineering career, retiring from Naval Weapons Station Earle in 1997. George was an avid fisherman and sailor and a huge baseball fan.
George is survived by his daughter, Luralyn Fay and her husband John; his son, Guy Miller and his wife Mary Anne; his grandchildren, Kellen and Stephen Miller; his step granddaughter, Jaclyn Sabella and her husband Kyle; and his step great grandsons, Anthony and Patrick. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Joan (nee Marvin) in 2008.
Visiting hours will be held from 4 to 8 pm Friday, December 29 at the M. John Scanlan Funeral Home, Pompton Plains. A funeral service will be held 10 am Saturday at the First Reformed Church, Pompton Plains. Interment will follow at Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River.
In lieu of flowers, donations in George's memory to the First Reformed Church would be greatly appreciated by his family.
