Clara Donatiello, a longtime resident of Pompton Plains, passed away on April 9, 2018.
A devout Catholic, Clara was an active parishioner of Holy Spirit RC Church in Pequannock for over 60 years where she served as past president of the Rosary Altar Society and Chairman for the Renew Program. She also volunteered and served as chairman for many programs within diocese, was past president of the District Council of Catholic Women for both the Butler and Paterson Districts, and served as Newark Province Director of the National Council of Catholic Women.
Clara was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother; she enjoyed nothing more than time spending her days surrounded by family. She enjoyed time spent at her shore house and couldn't pass up a trip to Atlantic City where she would try her luck on the slot machines.
Clara is survived by her children, Allan Donatiello, Sally Donatiello, Carol Iocca, David Donatiello and his better half, Mary Ryan, and Donna Arduini; her grandchildren, Chris Iocca and Curtis Arduini; and her beloved dog, Nikki. She was predeceased by her husband Salvatore, her brother Alex DiFabrizio and her son in-law, George Iocca.
Visiting hours are from 2-4 & 7-9pm on Wednesday, April 11 at the M. John Scanlan Funeral Home, Pompton Plains. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30 am on Thursday at Holy Spirit RC Church, Pequannock. Burial will follow at Glendale Cemetery, Bloomfield.
In lieu of flowers, a Mass offered in Clara's memory at Holy Spirit Church in Pequannock would be appreciated by her family.
