Robert Gitin, 57, a longtime resident of Pompton Plains, passed away on February 21, 2021.
Bob had a larger than life personality and a passion for life that made the room a bit brighter whenever he entered. He wasn't just the life of the party, he was the party. He lived for the beach and spending time in the sunshine, celebrating constantly with those he loved, always with a drink in his hand.
Bob’s greatest joy was his children, Katie and Alex. He was an amazing father, always making them feel special and loved. A true jokester with a big heart, he also found ways to embarrass them, but he always did it out of infinite love. His compassion and caring nature paired with an infectious laugh and smile will be missed by all who knew him.
Bob is survived by his children, Katie and Alex; his parents, Robert and Frances; his brothers, Tom and Steve; his sister, Kathy; his girlfriend, Annette; his four nephews; and many close relatives and great friends.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the family is planning a celebration of life during the summer, date to be determined.
