Elenore Presing

Elenore Presing, 96, a longtime resident of Pompton Lakes, passed away peacefully Sunday, April 24, 2022.

Born in Paterson, Elenore was the 7th of 8 children born to Peter and Amelia (Van Orden) DeBrock.  Marrying Michael Joseph Presing in 1942, the couple settled in Pompton Lakes in 1955 and together raised three daughters; Patti, Kathy and Michele,

Elenore worked full time as a Bell Telephone operator for 30 years.  She was a strong, determined woman and was dedicated to her family.

Elenore was an excellent Mom, no matter how busy; she always had time for her daughters, their friends and ultimately their families.  That excellence carried down to her grandchildren.  Each of her grandchildren had a special relationship with her.  The grandkids always looked forward to sleepovers when Grandma was babysitting and especially enjoyed her special “Gramma’s chicken”.

It’s telling that these visits continued long after they had grown up, introducing “Nanny” to her ever growing family of great-grandchildren, whom she adored.

Later in life Elenore moved to Pompton Lakes Senior Housing where her daughter Kathy also lived.  The two of them made quite the team there for many years and made good friends.

Elenore was an amazingly positive, upbeat person who never complained.  She was thankful for the life she was blessed with.  She will be dearly missed by all of her loving family and acquaintances.

She is lovingly survived by her children, Patti Puccini and her husband Bob, Kathy Presing and Michele Churchill and her husband Randy; her brother Charles DeBrock; her grandchildren, Laura Komnath and her husband David, Linda Tipton and her husband Eric, Lena Matos and her husband Ricky, Jessica Imparato and her husband Jeff, Michael Churchill and his wife Lindsey; and thirteen great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her loving husband Michael; as well as her siblings Jean, Peter, James, Dorothy, Edna and Ruth.

A funeral Mass will be held 10 am Friday at St. Mary’s RC Church, Pompton Lakes.  Burial will follow at Pompton Reformed Cemetery, Pompton Lakes.

I lieu of flowers, donations to St. Mary’s RC Church, 17 Pompton Avenue, Pompton Lakes, NJ  07442 would be appreciated.
