Robert P. Lofaro, 87, of Pequannock, a proud US Army veteran, passed away on April 26, 2022 surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Astoria, Queens, Bob was the son of Francis and Elvira Lofaro. He worked as a corporate tax accountant while he earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Long Island University. He married Rose Flynn in 1962 and the couple enjoyed 59 years of marriage before Rose’s passing last April. Bob had a passion for music fueled by his love of jazz and big band music, especially Frank Sinatra. Bob was an avid Notre Dame fan, always cheering on the football team and taking pride in being the parent of an alumni.
Bob was an active parishioner of Our Lady of Good Counsel, where he served as a collection counter for many years and was a former member of the Knights of Columbus Bishop Navagh Council 5943.
Bob is survived by his children, Diane Marra and her husband Ben, Robert Lofaro, Cindy Parr and her husband Chris; his grandchildren, Taylor and Andrew Marra and Christian and Brady Parr. He was predeceased by his wife, Rose; and his brother, Frank.
Memorial visitation will be held from 4-8 pm on Thursday, April 28 at M. John Scanlan Funeral Home. A memorial Mass will be celebrated 10 am on Friday at Our Lady of Good Counsel RC Church, Pompton Plains. Interment of ashes will follow First Reformed Church Cemetery, Pompton Plains.
