James N. Bray, 82, of Pompton Plains, formerly of North Caldwell, died Sunday, February 11, 2007 at his home in Pompton Plains. Born in Morgantown, West Virginia, James was the son of the late Charles and Frances (nee Newell) Bray. Marrying Sarah Gatewood in 1951, the couple settled in North Caldwell, where they raised two sons. James worked as a Financial Analyst for Dun & Bradstreet in New York City for thirty years before working as vice president for Moody?s Investors Services, retiring in 1987. An important part of James? life was his role as a parishioner at St. Agnes Episcopal Church in Little Falls, where he worshiped for more than 41 years. James is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sarah; his sons, Charles W. of Kinnelon and James G. of Sparta; and his four grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be celebrated 1 p.m. Friday, February 23 at St. Agnes Episcopal Church, 65 Union Avenue, Little Falls. A repast luncheon will follow at Ruppert?s Restaurant in Riverdale. In lieu of flowers, donations in James? memory to St. Agnes Episcopal Church would be greatly appreciated by his family.
