Obituary of Frank Addice

Frank "Cheech" Addice, 91, passed away December 27, 2020.

Frank was born to Michael and Francesca Addice in Paterson NJ. He moved to Wanaque in 1964 then to Pompton Plains in 1995. He attended Saint Anthony School in Paterson and Central High School for his education. As a young boy, he had many odd jobs such as a shoe shiner and grocery delivery boy.  He later worked at Dumont Television alongside his brothers and father in the family masonry business. From 1986 to retirement, Frank found a home at Bergen Catholic High School in Oradell as a Maintenance Supervisor, however of all the jobs he had, his favorite was being a father and grandfather.  He loved being able to be with his family whenever time permitted.

Frank was a fan of sports and enjoyed watching the NY Yankees, NY Giants and Notre Dame football. He loved to play cards and would always enjoy the many trips he took to the casino. You would frequently see Frank indulge in his favorite foods such as ice cream and hot dogs “all the way”. He was known to joke around with others and for his carefree humor. He was known to be active and enjoy the outdoors whether it would be for pleasure or work. He would find every excuse to soak up the air, even if it was to sweep the leaves off his sidewalk. He would sit outside and would say hi to all his neighbors and people watch. Frank cherished the vacations he would take to Disney, to the shore and the cruises he went on. Frank always felt accomplished about his life when he was able to visit Italy not once but twice. He was able to meet his extended family and know more about his ancestral background. Frank had a big heart and was humbled for what he had in his life especially his large loving family. He always looked forward to all the gatherings especially the annual 4th of July picnic and Christmas Family Reunion.

Frank is survived by his loving wife Lorraine (nee Abbood);  his daughters Patricia Mersbach ( William), Barbara Sloat-Kane (Edward) Susan Montenegro (Binaldo) and his son Robert; his sisters Ann Argento and Geraldine Kurpick. Frank is also survived by his wonderful 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He is predeceased by son Frank Paul Addice and daughter Paula Addice.
