In reading the memories and thoughtful messages here, it is clear that Dr. Lilia Cabrera was a smart, kind, and generous woman. Regrettably, I did not know her firsthand. I have come to know her through her daughter, my friend Limarie, also a smart, kind, and generous woman. Please accept my condolences, all, on your loss. For Lim and other family and friends of Dr. Cabrera, I wish peace and love. Life is finite, but love is eternal.
It is always difficult to say goodbye to someone we love, someone who has loved us. Perhaps some small solace can be taken in the many happy memories shared with the loved one we’ve lost. Perhaps some small peace can be felt in the knowledge that through their actions – helping a brother through college, helping a niece or nephew take a step toward realizing their own “American dream,” living a life of service through a career in medicine, or guiding a family through life as a mom and grandmother – they have made the world a better place.
May the memory of Dr. Lilia Ventura Cabrera be a blessing.

Please accept my sincerest condolences for your loss. I have had the pleasure for knowing all of you and Mrs Cabrera for over 30 years. I know we haven't seen each other in several years, but i will always remember Mrs. Cabrera fondness. She was a sweet and smart lady and always made me feel welcomed ! I know that this will be a difficult time and pray that God will gently carry you through each day. He is faithful and you can count on Him.

Saddened by her death although I knew she was going from the sound of her voice when I talked with her about 3 weeks ago through Magic Jack. LILIA has always showered me with care. Years ago, while I was still a student in Manila, LILIA would sell her medical books at the end of one semester so that I will have the money to enroll for the next semester. She also shared with me her allowance, meager though it was. I would not be a CIVIL ENGINEER if not for LILIA's generous help. I am what I am today because GOD used my sister LILIA as a CHANNEL OF LOVE.
From LILIA, I learned the true essence of SHARING, which is contrary to human nature especially when it entails sacrifice. From LILIA, I learned that CARING is a word that knows no boundaries. From LILIA, I learned that LOVE is contagious!

A kind, gentle and generous woman, who wasn’t just a good doctor, but also a good wife, a good mother and grandmother, a good sister and aunt, but what I would most remember about Aunt Lily is her love for Lola Apo, she often called, wrote letters, came home when Apo can’t go to the U.S. She was so good with her hands that she also sent her art works like woodcrafting and elaborate embroideries, that was displayed all over our old home in Cabalantian. I only know this extraordinary woman through her daughter Limarie. But through that lens I know what an amazing person she was.
