Robert C. Miller (Bob) died on March 18, 2021 at age 89.
Bob was born in Dover, NJ. His father (Ed Miller) died when Bob was 8 years old. His mother (Mae McCarthy) moved the family to Union City, where, as a schoolboy, Bob worked for Charlie Ritz Meat Market. An exceptional High-School athlete, Bob received many college offers but rather enlisted in the U.S. Army becoming a decorated veteran of the Korean War, earning two Bronze Stars and promoted to the rank of sergeant. Bob married his childhood sweetheart, and love of his life, Rosemarie (Mickey) Maddolin. They moved to Wood-Ridge, where they resided for four decades. Bob received his bachelor’s degree from Seton Hall University and worked for 40 years in banking retiring at Lexington Mutual. In retirement they moved to Pompton Plains. Bob loved spending time with his family, was an avid collector of baseball cards and political memorabilia and remained highly involved in veterans causes.
He was pre-deceased by his wife, parents, two brothers, Ed and Larry Miller, and a sister, Patty Klein. He is survived by three sons, Bob (Michele), Tom (Deborah) and Jim (Laura), a daughter, Elaine (Bill), 6 grandkids, and 7 great grandchildren.
