Obituary of Lucille Barbara McGann

Lucille Barbara Brzozowski McGann passed away at her home on Friday, March 26, 2021.

She was happiest when surrounded by family. She left behind a loving and doting husband of 58 years, Edward McGann; three daughters: Linda Wraith, Donna Pfund, and Paula Lubreski; plus six grandchildren: Erin, Nicole, Sky, Colin, Matthew, and Sierra.

Lucille was born and raised in Bayonne, New Jersey. She was educated at Trenton State and earned her Masters degree from NYU, as well as various other certificates from Kean College.

As a teacher for 25 years, she always valued education for her family and her students, with whom she often felt a special bond, when teaching in Cranford and Chatham. She combined her love of family and education by sending articles of current events to family members to share an idea, stay connected or simply show she was thinking of them.

She was an active member in many clubs, including the Fanwood Scotch Plains College Club and the Maple Hillers, as well as the Chansonette Singing Group, among many other choirs. She loved playing tennis at the Hilltop Tennis Club, as well as playing bridge with many of her friends. She was a longtime member of the Willow Grove Swim Club.

She lived a long and happy life, always curious about others and ready to travel with Ed to find her next adventure. When she wasn't enjoying flowers, birds, and nature, you could find her painting landscapes.

Visiting hours will be held Monday, April 5 from 5-8 pm at the funeral home.A funeral Mass will be celebrated 12:30 pm on April 6 at Cedar Crest Chapel, 1 Cedar Crest Drive, Pompton Plains, NJ. Cremation will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Lucille's memory to the Fanwood Scotch Plains College Club Scholarship Fund,, would be greatly appreciated by the McGann family.
