Arthur Judge, Jr.

Obituary of Arthur I Judge, Jr.

Arthur Irving Judge, Jr., 89, of Newfoundland, died Saturday, July 10, 2021.

Born in Paterson, Art was the son of Athur Judge Sr. and Molly (nee Savasta) Judge. While growing up in Paterson, he fell in love with the sport of boxing, and became a golden glove boxer himself. He was a lifelong fan of the sport, and passed along that love to his son, Jeffrey, who hosted many boxing parties that Art loved to attend.

A proud Marine, he attended Camp LeJuene and served in the Korean War. He was always proud of the Marine motto, "Semper Fi." He was honorably discharged in May, 1954.

While in the Marines, he learned to be a skilled electrician, and went to work as a Union Electrician for the IBEW Local 102, retiring after 55 years.

Art married June Turkowsky in 1960, and together the couple enjoyed 61 years of wedded bliss. They were blessed with two children, Jeffrey and Deborah.

Jeffrey's death at the age of 35 was very hard on Art. The father and son had served together on the West Milford Ambulance Squad for several years. Afterward, Jeffrey attended medical school and became an anaesthesiologist.

Art enjoyed boxing, football, baseball, and played golf for many years. He traveled extensively around the world to Italy, France, Greece, Portugal, and many others.

He is lovingly survived by his wife, June; his daughter, Deborah Rohde and her husband Jim; his grandchildren, James and Lauren; and his nephew, Albert Decker and his wife Linda.

Visiting hours will be held Tuesday from 5-8 pm at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held 11 am Wednesday, also at the funeral home. Burial will follow at North Hardyston Cemetery, Hamburg.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Art's memory to the Parkinson's Foundation, 200 SE 1st Street, Suite 800, Miami, FL 33131 would be greatly appreciated.
