Frances A. Ham, 89, of Newark, died at home Thursday, July 15, 2021 in the care of her family.
Born in Newark, Frances one of seven children born to Joseph and Lucy Provine. Together with her siblings Julius, Robert, Lucille, Joseph, Johnny and Marilyn, Frances was raised in Newark. At the age of 14, she fell in love with Arthur E. Ham, also of Newark. The high school sweethearts married in 1954, and together settled in Pompton Plains, where they raised three children.
During their marriage, Frances and Arthur loved taking walks together, vacationing in Englewood, Florida every year, and spending their free time at PV Park. They enjoyed more than 40 years of marriage together before his death in 1998.
Frances remained in Pompton Plains until moving to Butler. She loved being with family, especially when they got to make the family's legendary ravioli recipe as a team. Frances had a good heart, and was always concerned for everyone around here. She wanted nothing more than to make others happy.
She is lovingly survived by her children, Patricia Crowell and her husband Michael, Gary Ham and his wife Linda, and Karen Devlin; and her seven grandchildren.
Funeral services for Frances will be held privately for the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in her memory would be greatly appreciated.
