Veronica (Ron) Quigley, nee McCann, 98, of Pompton Lakes died peacefully in her sleep yesterday evening at home while surrounded by family members.
A Mass will be offered at St. Mary’s Church in Pompton Lakes on Monday, December 13th at 10 AM. Mrs. Quigley was a homemaker and later in her life, a florist. Born in Paterson, she lived briefly in Glen Rock before moving to Pompton Lakes nearly 70 years ago.
She attended sports games for her sixteen grandchildren including softball, baseball, fencing, field hockey, soccer, basketball and track. She never missed a game. She was always grateful no one took up curling. She attended every school play, costume parade, dance recital and graduation. Her family was her passion, and her sense of humor was her inspiration.
She is survived by her daughters Veronica (Bonnie) Ott and her husband Ted; Katie Cole and her husband Rob, and her sons Michael Quigley and his wife Edith (Cookie); Pat Quigley and his wife Marcelle; and her favorite, Tom Quigley and his wife Valerie. She had 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren and a dog named Mel.
She is predeceased by her husband James E. Quigley, and her parents, George and Marie McCann, her brother George McCann, Jr., and her sisters, Mae McCann and Ann McCann Cypher.
