Obituary of Virginia Lee Michialis

Virginia L. Michialis passed away on December 27th, 2021 at the age of 77 on hospice in Wayne, NJ. She had fought a long battle with an inoperable heart condition and spinal stenosis, and is now free of her debilitating pain. 

Virginia was a graduate of New York University. She was the first female President and CEO in the market research industry, owning both Michaels Marketing and Metropolitan Market Research. She was outspoken in women’s rights, especially in the workplace. 

Her fondest memories are of summers with her family in Erikoussa, Greece and Amagansett, NY. She was an avid reader, reading 2-3 books at a time. She has proudly seen almost every episode of Law and Order. 

Virginia is survived by her daughters Elizabeth and Alexandra, and her grandchildren Miriam and Noah. 

Service will be held on Wednesday, December 29th, 2021 at 11:00 am at Pompton Reformed Cemetery 59 Hamburg Turnpike, Pompton Lakes, NJ 07442 

Flowers are discouraged, Virginia’s wish was for donations in her name to an organization she cared deeply for-Strengthen Our Sisters is the first domestic violence program and shelter in US history, based northern NJ www.strengthenoutsisters.org
