Obituary of Virginia Mc Cleerey
Virginia Mc Cleerey, 95, passed away on January 5, 2022.
Virginia was born and raised in Wallington, NJ and lived there until moving to Cedar Crest Village 19 years ago. She worked as an executive secretary to the Chairman of the Board and President of Newmont Mining Corp.
Affectionately known to everyone as Aunt Ginny and known to her family as one of the "three dolls", she was a very special lady who will be remembered for impeccable style and loving nature. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Virginia is survived by her nieces and nephews; Kathleen Burgard (Phillip), Kenneth Weiss (Nancy), Sandy Struble (John), Arlene Raymond, Steven Raymond, Ruth Magro (Bob), John Raymond (Ruth), Robin Chuprevich, Jack Burns, Joseph Burns (Joan), Daniel Mc Cleerey (Jane), and Kevin Mc Cleerey (Dolores);15 great nieces and nephews and 9 great great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents John Mc Cleerey and Catherine Fitzgerald-McCleerey; her siblings Kathleen Weiss (Herman), Eileen Raymond (John), Dorothea Burns, John Mc Cleerey (Josephine), Ruth Mc Cleerey, Margaret McCleerey, Daniel Mc Cleerey (Ann).
Visiting hours are 2-5 pm on Sunday, 1/9 at M. John Scanlan Funeral Home, Pompton Plains. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10am on Monday January 10, 2022 at Our Lady of Magnificat RC Church, Kinnelon. Interment will follow at St. Nicholas Cemetery, Lodi.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Virginia's memory can be made to Special Olympics.
