Obituary of Cord Randell Vollmers
Cord Randell Vollmers, 59, passed away after a short illness on January 22, 2022.
Cord was born in NYC on May 14, 1962 to Katrin and Horst Vollmers. He lived in the Bronx until 1966, when the family moved to Pequannock. He graduated from Pequannock Township High School, where he played football and was a star pitcher on the baseball team.
In 1986, he became the proprietor of Travel Limousine in Pompton Plains.
In 1997, he moved with his family to New Port Richey, Florida, where he worked as a commercial broker and enjoyed the warmer weather and beautiful sunsets.
Cord was known for his storytelling, and he loved to make people laugh. He loved his hometown and remained friends with many of his high school classmates. He enjoyed meeting up with them whenever the opportunity arose. He was proud of his German heritage and stayed connected to his extended family in Germany.
Cord was a loving father, and his daughters were his pride and joy. He was a devoted son; a wonderful, caring brother; and a good friend to all. He quietly took pride in his volunteer work with homeless veterans.
Cord is survived by his daughters, Alex (Evan) and Courtney; his mother, Katrin; his sister, Karla (Tom); his brother, Clint and his wife, Sheila; his nephew, Derek (Danielle); and his great nephew, Logan. He is pre-deceased by his brother, Peter, and his father.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Cord's memory to Liberty Manor for Veterans in Tampa, FL.
A memorial service will be held Sunday February 6 from 11am to 1pm.
