David Gwozdz

Obituary of David B Gwozdz

David B. Gwozdz, 46, of Pompton Plains and Lincoln Park, passed away on January 28, 2022.

Born in Pompton Plains to Kenneth John and Joan (nee Wenski) Gwozdz, Dave was a graduate of Pequannock Township High School and Susquehanna University. He worked as an environmental scientist for Arcadis for over 20 years.

Dave had a love for all sports, especially fishing and football.   His love of the outdoors was not only reflected in his career but in how he spent his time. He was happiest watching and participating in sporting events or just engaging in outside activities.  More than anything, he cherished the time spent with his family and friends. His children were his greatest joy and he could always be found on the sideline at their sporting events, cheering them on.

Dave was a reliable and dependable friend. He was always there for everyone and was affectionately known as “Dave on Demand.”

Dave is lovingly survived by his mother, Joan; his wife, Danielle Tracy; his children, Sean and Samantha; his brothers, Kenneth and Joseph and his wife Guajira; his sister, Julie; and brothers in-law, Todd and Jamie Tracy; and his nieces and nephews, Camila and Santiago Gwozdz and Jessica and Alex Tracy.  He was predeceased by his father, Kenneth.

Visiting hours will be held from 5 to 7 pm Tuesday, February 1 at the funeral home. A memorial Mass will be held 11 am Thursday, February 10 at St. Joseph’s RC Church, Lincoln Park. Burial of ashes will follow at Our Lady of the Magnificat Cemetery, Kinnelon.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Dave’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital would be greatly appreciated by his family.
