Obituary of Mary Wuensch
Mary Wuensch, of Cedar Crest Village in Pompton Plains, passed away on February 2, 2022 at the age of 91.
Raised in the Washington Heights section of New York, Mary was the daughter of George and Vasilka Davis. She married Edmund Wuensch and together they raised two daughters. Mary earned her Masters degree in Education and taught many years in the Englewood and Fair Lawn School Districts. She was also a proud homemaker, lovingly caring for her home, husband and children. In her spare time, Mary enjoyed playing Rummikub and was a volunteer with the Girl Scouts of America. She also had a love of gardening which led her to become a member of the Garden Club in Paramus. Above all, Mary cherished time spent with her husband, children and grandchildren.
Mary is survived by her husband, Edmund; her daughters, Joanne Wuensch and her husband Paul Sherrington and Wendy Fiscus and her husband William; and her grandchildren, Henry, Ian George, Lilyann, Harrison and Ryland.
The family will receive visitors from 9:30-11:30 am on Saturday, February 5 at Cedar Crest Chapel, 1 Cedar Crest Drive, Pompton Plains. A funeral service will conclude the visitation at 11:30. Burial will follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary’s memory can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
