Obituary of Julia B. Crowell

Julia B. Crowell, 98, of Kinnelon, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2022.

Born in Paterson, Julia was the daughter of Roy and Anastasia Glentz.  She grew up in Fair Lawn and married her true love and the boy next door, Arthur Crowell in 1945.  The couple settled in Fair Lawn to raise their family before moving to Montville in 1994.

Julia was an avid golfer and bowler who especially loved visiting casinos and playing bingo. She also enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and Europe and cruising through the Caribbean.  Her greatest joy in life was her family and she was a proud and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Julia is lovingly survived by her daughters, Barbara Herchick and Irene Crowell; her son, Arthur Crowell and his wife Jamie; her grandchildren, Brian Herchick and his wife Kelly, Julianne Crowell, Scott Herchick and his wife Tracy, Jason Crowell and his wife Anna, Justin Crowell and his wife Sacha, and Kate Tocco and her husband Greg; and her great grandchildren, Wyatt, Owen, Cooper, Vienna, Chloe, Connor, Cecilia, Tanner, and Collin.  She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur "Bud"; her siblings, Anthony Glentz, Joseph Glentz, Helen Swierczewski, and Mary Sutton; and her son-in-law, Eugene Herchick.

Visiting hours will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 pm Tuesday, April 19 at the M. John Scanlan Funeral Home, Pompton Plains.  A funeral Mass will be held 9:30 am Wednesday at Our Lady of the Magnificat Chapel, Kinnelon.  Entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Paterson.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Kinnelon Animal Shelter would be greatly appreciated.
