
Obituary of Margaret A. Caruso
Margaret A. Caruso, 98, of Pequannock, passed away on April 23, 2022.
Born in Paterson and raised in Fair Lawn, Margaret was the daughter of Antonio and Angelina DiIenno. She married Frank Caruso in 1947 and the couple raised their daughter, Angela, in Elmwood Park. In 1995, Margaret and Frank moved to Pequannock. She cherished time spent with her family and friends and was especially proud of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. From an early age she showed the love of her family by helping to care for her younger siblings. When she wasn’t with her family, she could be found in prayer or rooting for her Yankees. She always enjoyed happy hour on her patio with friends. Christmas Eve was her favorite holiday because it was a time spent with those she loved.
Margaret is survived by her daughter Angela DeLeeuw and her husband Bob; her grandchildren, Tara Kazdan and her husband Richie and Danielle Miller and her husband Brian; her great grandchildren, Brett, Remy, Jesse and Ryann; her brothers, Ronald DiIenno and Christopher DiIenno. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank; her sisters, Viola Conforth and Betty Nichols; her brothers, Tony and Al DiIenno and Theodore and Angelo DeChellis.
Visiting hours are 4-8 pm on Wednesday, 4/27 at M. John Scanlan Funeral Home, Pompton Plains. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 am on Thursday at Our Lady of Good Counsel RC Church, Pompton Plains. Burial will follow at Laurel Grove Memorial Park, Totowa.
