

Obituary of Oragio Gugliandolo
Oragio “Fred” Gugliandolo, 87, passed away May 5, 2022.
Fred was born to Oragio and Concetta Gugliandolo. He grew up in Edgewater NJ. He married his late wife Carmela in May of 1958. They had two children which they raised in North Bergen. Fred was an auto mechanic for the family business then went into construction. He was with the Local Union 325, Jersey City, N.J. till his retirement.
Fred was known for his happy- go- lucky presence. He was an avid walker. He would walk to the local Stop & Shop and back home, while greeting his neighbors. He was a big NY Yankee fan, watching the games when he wasn’t out walking around town and socializing. Fred was talented in wood workings. He made anything from furniture to shelves to any type of carpentry. Fred had an appreciation for cars, he enjoyed everything from how they worked to how they changed over the years, he was known as a car enthusiast and car historian.
Fred enjoyed his food and not just any food, he needed a home cooked meal made from fresh ingredients and of course, delicious. His biggest love in life was his granddaughter Maria, he was a proud grandfather and will always cherish the memory of finally going to Disney World with Maria at the age of 72. Taking advantage of riding all the rollercoasters together. He loved his life and appreciated everything he had, family, good friends and a good meal when he could.
Fred is predeceased by his late wife Carmela, his brother Joseph Gugliandolo, and his nephews Kevin and Raymond Semeraro. He is survived by his children Patrick Gugliandolo and his wife Cindy, Cara and her husband Al Serpineto; his granddaughter Maria Serpineto; his sister-in-law Rosemarie and Gabriel Scudese; his nieces and nephews Lenny Semeraro, Mark Semeraro and his wife Elizabeth, Ann Marie Simoni and her husband Edward, Patricia Scudese, Susan Horn and her husband Christian; he is also survived by many great nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will welcome guests on Tuesday May 10, 2022 for a wake at the M. John Scanlan Funeral Home from 4-8pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Fred’s honor at Our Lady of Magnificat RC Church in Kinnelon, NJ Wednesday May 11, 2022 at 10am. Cremation is held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be sent to the American Heart Association in Fred’s memory.
