Obituary of Walter Voloshin

Walter Voloshin, 89, of Pompton Plains passed away May 19, 2022.

Born in Jersey City, Walter was the son of John and Anna (Barychko) Voloshin. Walter was raised in Brooklyn. After marrying his wife, Margaret, they moved to Long Island before settling in New Jersey more than 40 years ago.

Walter joined the United States Army and served on Vital Border Duty. Once discharged he did an apprenticeship with Bethlehem Steel Company Shipyard in Hoboken. Walter worked for the New York Times for 45 years as a machinist journeyman leading to machinist foreman position. Walter enjoyed golfing, watching old westerns, and listening to Frank Sinatra.

Walter is survived by his daughter, Catherine Stevens and her husband Harold, granddaughter, Jaclyn Eisele, step-grandsons, Corey and Kyle Stevens, brother, Richard and his wife Pamela, nieces Debra, Andrea and Alexis and nephew John.  He is predeceased by his wife Margaret, brother John, sister-in-law Rose and goddaughter Natasha.  

Services will be held at another date privately by the family.
