Obituary of Barbara V. Strong

Barbara Vivienne Strong, 84, of Leesburg, Florida, passed away on Saturday July 2, 2022 after a short illness. She was born in Ilion, NY to the late Milton Henry Strong and Marjorie May Phillips Strong. She was formerly of Lincoln Park, NJ.

Barbara was the most kind, thoughtful, caring, selfless soul. She was always giving to her family and friends and would never miss an occasion for sending cards and thoughtful gifts to all.

In her retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her family and going on day trips. She was an avid reader. Her passion was pursuing the Strong Family Genealogy. She had dated the family history back to the 1700’s. Barbara was proud of her upstate NY heritage and spent most of her time re-connecting with long lost relatives.

She is survived by her daughter, Diane Deininger and partner Randall E. Vreeland of Pompton Plains, NJ; daughter, Darlene Catania of Leesburg, FL; her grandchildren, Jason P. Vetack of Port Orchard, WA; Corey P. Deininger and wife Brandi L. Deininger of Kingman AZ; Larissa L. Deininger and boyfriend Jorge Mendoza of Ridgewood, NJ; and her great grandchildren, Tyler P. Vetack; the late Andrew V. Vetack; Aubrey Rojas; Chloe C. Vetack and Hayleigh J. Vetack.

Visitation will be held Thursday, July 14, 2022 from 4-8 pm at M. John Scanlan Funeral Home, Pompton Plains. A graveside service will be held 11 am on Friday July 15, 2022 at Restland Memorial Park, East Hanover.
