Obituary of Gail Ann Van Hook
Gail Ann Van Hook passed away peacefully on September 23, 2022 in her home at the age of 63 years old after suffering a traumatic brain aneurysm four and half years ago.
Born in Cincinnati, Ohio on October 22, 1958, Gail grew up in Oakland, New Jersey. After marrying her husband of 44 years, Joseph Van Hook, in Colorado Springs they settled down in Greenwood Lake in Hewitt, New Jersey for close to 20 years. Gail then went on to work at West Milford Township for 18 years. She enjoyed her job and being involved with the Historical Society of West Milford. During this time the family moved to Snake Den Road in West Milford. She found a new love of being in the serenity of the woods surrounded by nature and her love for her animals, gardening and just taking long walks. She also enjoyed taking trips to Sea Girt and Vermont.
The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Gail. She loved people, nature, animals, and antiques and always saw the best in everyone she met. She made many friends in her life.
Gail was predeceased by her parents, Bill and Merle Goldsberry; brother, Chuck Goldsberry; father in-law, Charles Van Hook; and sister in-law, Maureen Van Hook.
