Carol Ann Turcott, 89, of Pompton Plains, NJ, formerly of Tenafly, NJ passed away on October 11, 2022.

Carol was born on September 14, 1933 to Joseph and Catherine Kimmel Horn in West Reading, PA. After graduating from Lebanon Catholic High School she went to St. Joseph’s School of Nursing in Lancaster, PA during which time she met the love of her life at a dance at Franklin and Marshall College. 

Carol married Kenneth J. Turcott on December 31, 1955 and went on to have eight children, John (Diane) Turcott, Anne (dec. Ralph) DeCandia, Beth (George) Woods, Mary (John) Sottile, Jeanne Calderone, Joseph (Renée) Turcott, Margaret (Rich) Ohnikian and Frances (Lenny) Medico. She was a loving Mema to Jillian (Mike) and Adam (Erika), Christopher (Amber), Danielle (Edwin), Jonathan and Christina (Matt), Theresa (Kevin), Joseph (Brianna) and Mary (Nick), Matthew, Elizabeth and Joseph, Jaclyn, Thomas and Victoria, James (Jamile), Dylan and Olivia, Andrew, Justin and Connor and Lauren and Maddie. Carol had the blessing of loving each of her great-grandchildren, Collin, Luke, Evan, and Emma, Vivian, Killian, Edith and Thea, Cameron, Liam, Gianna, Ethan and was looking forward to another great-grandchild due to arrive in November. She will be watching over them all.  

Carol and her family were stationed coast-to-coast while in the Air Force. They settled in Tenafly, NJ in 1967 and remained there for 40 years. They were parishioners at Our Lady of Mount Carmel R. C. Church in Tenafly until they moved to Cedar Crest in Pompton Plains, NJ in 2005. Carol enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, shopping, doing puzzles and going on cruises. She enjoyed her summer vacations in Tanglwood Lakes, PA and spending many winters in Delray Beach, FL. Carol was devoted to the Blessed Mother and found strength in praying the Holy Rosary. Carol will be deeply missed by all who loved her. 

Carol was welcomed into heaven by her parents, Joseph and Catherine Horn, her brothers, Donald and James Horn, her son-in-law, Ralph DeCandia, and many little ones who went right to heaven. Carol is survived by Kenneth, her beloved husband of 66 years, her brother, Ken Horn, sister-in-law Nancy Horn, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and five nieces and nephews.

The family will welcome visitors an hour prior to the 2:00 pm Mass of Christian Burial at The Cedar Crest Village Chapel, Pompton Plains, NJ on Saturday, October 22, 2022. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The American Diabetes Association or The American Heart Association, organizations close to Carol’s heart.
