Obituary of Joan C Pagano

Joan C. Pagano, 76, passed away October 26, 2022.

Joan was born in Bristol, Connecticut to John and Arlene Anderson. She attended Bristol Eastern High School and C.W. Post College in Long Island where she graduated with a degree in French. While attending, Joan met her late husband, Thomas Pagano. The two married and raised their family in Jefferson, New Jersey.

Early on Joan was a hands on, stay at home parent raising her family and later spent 23 years as a 6 th  grade language arts teacher in Jefferson Township. She was an avid NY Mets fan and loved watching them every season losing or winning. Joan was a long-time member of the Papermill Playhouse and enjoyed going to a good dinner and show were her girlfriends. Joan was known to appreciate a good conversation, which were frequently sprinkled with her famous catch phrases. Joan always enjoyed her many visits with her cousins and friends in Connecticut, including day trips visiting Mohegan Sun. She was also a fan of her annual summer trip to Cape Cod. Joan was a devoted mother, but especially loved being a grandmother.

Joan is predeceased by her late husband Thomas and her son Matthew.

Joan is survived by her son Craig Pagano and his wife Dayle; her grandchildren Evelyn, Emerson, and Andrew Pagano. She is also survived by many caring family members and lifelong friends.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 2, 2022, from 5-8 PM at M. John Scanlan Funeral Home in Pompton Plains. A funeral service will be held Thursday, November 3, 2022 at 10:30AM at the funeral home followed by a repast.
