Obituary of Marion Diamond
Marion Diamond passed away on Friday, October 28, 2022, at her home in West Milford. She was 87. Born in Brooklyn, New York, she lived in Old Bridge, NJ and Staten Island, NY before moving to Pompton Lakes in 1976. There, she and her husband, Nathan, raised their family of four children. Marion was very active in St. Mary’s parish in Pompton Lakes, where she cooked meals for a variety of parish activities and helped by driving many of the parishioners to doctor’s appointments. Her caregiving was evident as she visited area hospitals in order that people who needed, could receive the Eucharist. And her most favorite activity was cooking great tasting meals for friends and family.
Marion is predeceased by her dear husband, Nathan (1996). She is survived by her four loving children James Diamond and his partner Joy Rojas Cabrera, Christopher Diamond and his wife Laura, Kathryn Brown, Patricia Kramer and her husband Robert; nine cherished grandchildren Kevin and Jonathan Diamond; Ryan, Shaun and Matthew Kramer; Stephen and Christopher Brown; Jessica and Nicholas Diamond; along with seven great-grandchildren. Marion also leaves behind her dear sister Marjorie Carey. Her sister, Barbara Danzi predeceases her.
Visitation will be held in the M. John Scanlan Funeral Home, 781 Newark Pompton Turnpike, Pompton Plains, New Jersey on Friday, November 4 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. A Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home on Saturday at 11:00 am. Interment to follow in Mount Rest Cemetery, 15 Kakeout Road, Butler, New Jersey.
Donations in memory of Marion may be made to the American Heart Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
