Obituary of Mary B Piro

Mary B. Piro, 81, of Cedar Crest Village in Pompton Plains, NJ, passed away on November 18, 2022.

Born and raised in Queens, NY, Mary was the daughter of Ben and Kathleen Brudevold. She earned her Master's degree in education from St. John's University and later retired from there as the Associate Dean. She married Ernest J. Piro, Jr. in 1963 and the couple lived in the Poconos for 18 years before moving to Cedar Crest Village in 2019.

Mary is lovingly survived by husband of 59 years, Ernest; her son, Ernest J. Piro, III; her daughter, Kathleen Okay and her husband Nevin; and her grandchildren, Abigail Piro and Nicholas Okay. She was predeceased by her granddaughter, Amanda Piro; and her daughter-in-law, Deborah Piro.

Visiting hours will be held from 3-7 pm Friday, December 2, 2022 at the M. John Scanlan Funeral Home, Pompton Plains. A funeral Mass will be held 10 am Saturday, December 3 at Cedar Crest Chapel, Pompton Plains. 

In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital would be greatly appreciated by her family.
