Obituary of Brian David Van Lenten

Brian David Van Lenten passed away in his home in Pompton Lakes, NJ on Wednesday, November 23, 2022.  He was 50 years young.  Brian lived in Pompton Lakes most of his life.

He was a Union Electrician with Local 3 and a former volunteer Firefighter in Pompton Lakes. He was a passionate New York Yankees baseball fan.  Brian was an animal lover and loved his Jeeps, but most of all, he loved his children.

Brian leaves behind his dear mother, Jessica Elizabeth Van Lenten (nee Daly); his beloved children, Evan Van Lenten, Emily Van Lenten, Ryan Van Lenten, and Lucas Van Lenten, He is also survived by two brothers, John Van Lenten and his wife Christina; David Van Lenten and his wife Cheryl; and a sister, Jessica Ryan; along with his nieces and nephews, Courtney McCullen and her husband Mark, John Ryan, Jennifer Ryan, Alixandra Borst and her husband Jeffrey,Timothy Van Lenten and Brittany Van Lenten, and Peter Michael Wah; great nieces, Sophia Borst, Elizabeth McCullen; and great nephew, Jacob Van Lenten.  Brian is predeceased by his father, Peter Van Lenten and his oldest brother, Peter William Van Lenten.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 29 from 5 to 8 pm in the M. John Scanlan Funeral Home, 781 Newark Pompton Turnpike, Pompton Plains, NJ.  A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, November 30th at 10 am in St. Mary’s Church, Pompton Lakes, NJ. The rite of Christian Burial will follow at Laurel Grove Cemetery, 295 Totowa Road, Totowa NJ.
