Obituary of Michael Raymond De Lucca
Michael Raymond De Lucca, AKA “Doc Holliday” passed away peacefully in Snow Hill, Maryland on November 13, 2022. He was 70 years old.
Born in Glen Ridge, New Jersey, Michael grew up in Wayne, New Jersey and graduated from Wayne Hills High School. He was a Mechanic and an Inspector for Alliance Inspection Management for many years.
Doc was an accomplished singer/songwriter and guitarist and performed with many local country bands over the years. He was a Nashville Recording Artist and received numerous awards. He worked at Bach to Rock Music and most recently ShamRock School of Music. Doc worked with ShamRock from the day they opened, tuning pianos for the school and their customers. He also served as their primary technician for repairing guitars and amplifiers
Mike was a gentle and caring soul who willingly took on the caretaking responsibilities for his aging mother and long time partner, Roseann Zirpoli during her final illness. Mike’s heart was bigger than life and an inspiration to many.
Michael is survived by a daughter, Crystal De Lucca and her fiancé, Roman Whittemore; Crystal De Lucca’s mother, Debbie Sharwell De Lucca; two sons, Shane De Lucca and his wife, Dana; and Kevin De Lucca and his wife, Thea. He also leaves behind his brothers, Cliff Aerie and his wife, Jan; Larry De Lucca and his wife, Kate; and David De Lucca and his wife, Debbie; along with 6 grandchildren and 8 nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, Harry De Lucca and Margaret Johnson; and his fiancé, Roseann Zirpoli.
A Memorial Gathering will take place on Saturday, January 28 at the Knights of Columbus, 84 Lincoln Park Road, Pequannock, New Jersey from 2:00 to 6:00 pm. A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 pm.
To honor Doc, a scholarship fund will be created in his name for the ShamRock School of Music assisting college bound Pequannock Township High School graduates. Doc always loved seeing ShamRock students perform though out the years.
