Obituary of Salvatore LaCorte

Salvatore Joseph LaCorte, 95, of Pompton Plains, passed away on December 6, 2022.

Born and raised in Clifton, Salvatore was the son of the late Charles and Frances LaCorte. He proudly served in the US Navy during WWII and later earned his master's degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He worked as an accountant for several places during his career, including IT&T, Western Union, and Otto York Co. Salvatore was a devoted parishioner of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church and volunteered his time at St. Joseph's Hospital and delivering food to Eva's Kitchen. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion Post 242.

Salvatore is lovingly survived by his wife of 68 years, Lorraine (nee Ernest); his sons, Charles (Charlotte), Robert (Sandra), Thomas (Sue), and Steven (Bernadette); his daughter, Allison Stiroh; his grandchildren, Ryan (Kayla), Brendan (Kelly), Justin, Shawn, Devin, and Darrin LaCorte, Amanda Sarcone (Michael), Christopher and Amy LaCorte, Timothy and Brian Stiroh, and Melissa and Michelle LaCorte; and his great grandsons, Michael and Nicholas Sarcone. He was predeceased by his sister, Joyce LaCorte.

Visiting hours will be held from 4 to 8 pm Monday, December 12 at the M. John Scanlan Funeral Home, Pompton Plains. A funeral Mass will be held 10 am Tuesday at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Pompton Plains. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Paterson.
