Obituary of Cheryl O'Brien

Cheryl L. O’Brien (née Weisgerber), of Manahawkin, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2022.

Cheryl was born on March 9 1957 in  Teaneck New Jersey to Frank and Shirley Weisgerber, their second of seven children. After graduating from Hackensack High School, Cheryl explored several careers, but her heart was in interior design, homemaking, and keeping a beautiful garden. In 1978, Cheryl met her future husband James at the Jersey shore and they wed in 1981. Cheryl had two beloved children, James and Karen. Cheryl worked many years for Shop Rite.

Later in life, Cheryl spent time traveling, including a tour of Ireland, and visiting museums to see works by her favorite artists, such as Vincent Van Gogh and Norman Rockwell. She and James retired to their home on the Jersey Shore and enjoyed many days at the beach with loved ones. Cheryl was known for her immense kindness, love of animals, especially dogs, and her dedication to her family.

Cheryl was predeceased by her parents Frank and Shirley, her brother Michael, and her sister Lisa. She is survived by her loving husband James; children James (Jessica) and Karen (David); brother Frank (June), sisters Stephanie, Kathy (William) and Lorie (Joseph).
