Obituary of Ruth Gunther

Ruth Gunther, 95, born December 9, 1927, passed away peacefully February 17, 2023.

Ruth was born and raised in Jersey City, NJ. She was a secretary for State Farm Insurance for over 25 years. She was a Sunday school teacher with First Reformed Church in Lincoln Park, where she also taught Bible Studies. Ruth enjoyed crocheting, board games, cards and time spent with family. She nurtured and loved her family, kept everyone together, and made sure family always came first.

Ruth is predeceased by her husband Harry (82) and her son Steven (67).

Ruth is survived by her son John Gunther (Patricia); her daughters Nancy Morin (Charles), Jeannette Tempe (Karl), and her daughter-in-law Jill Gunther (Steven); her 8 grandchildren and her 12 great grandchildren. 

Visitation will be held on Thursday February 23, 2023 from 11 am -1 pm at the M. John Scanlan Funeral Home.  A funeral service willl conclude the visitation at 1 pm. Interment will follow at Mount Rest Cemetery in Butler.
