Obituary of Alexander J. Serra, Jr.

Alexander J. Serra, Jr., 65, of Stockholm, formerly of Fair Lawn, died Friday, February 17, 2023. 

Born in Paterson, Alex was the youngest of three sons born to Alexander and Martha Serra. Raised in Fair Lawn, he was a graduate of Memorial High School there. 

Alex lived in Fair Lawn for most of his life before moving to Stockholm in 1999. 

He had a long career working in various warehouse jobs, predominantly with Mona Industries in Paterson. Later, he worked as a Janitor for the Hardyston Township School District.

Alex led a simple life, loving the simplicity of spending time with family, especially his beloved parents. He is lovingly survived by his brothers, Charles Serra and his wife Ellen, and Richard Serra; his niece, Gillian Serra Monahan and her husband James; and his great-nieces, Riley, Mila, McKenna, and Sadie. 

A graveside service will be held 11 am Thursday, February 23rd, at the Fair Lawn Cemetery in Fair Lawn, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Alex's memory to St. Jude's Children's Hospital would be greatly appreciated by his family.
