Otto K. Ziegler, 73, of Bloomingdale, died Monday, February 5, 2007 at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center in Philadelphia. Born in Germany, Otto was the son of the late Karl and Ana (nee Goodmann) Ziegler. Immigrating to the United States in 1955, Otto built his home in 1962 in the Morse Lakes section of Bloomingdale, living there for more than 45 years. Marrying Virginia ?Vicky? Cabrera in 1968, the couple raised five children in their Morse Lakes home. To support his family, Otto worked as a machinist for Universal Machinists in Paterson for more than 33 years before retiring in 1992. In his spare time, Otto enjoyed vacationing down the shore with his family, and especially loved camping. He also was an avid fan of soccer. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Vicky; his sons, Mark of Bloomingdale and Scott of Queens, New York; his daughters, Sandra Downey of Kinnelon, Yvonne Olsen of Mason, Washington and Marlene Lyons of East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania; his sisters, Ruth Janiak of Bloomingdale and Lotti Phisterer of Germany; his grandchildren, Wyatt and Kendra Ziegler, Tyler Lyons, and Colin, Kieran, Caitlyn and Kallie Downey; his nephew John Janiak Jr. as well as many other nephews and nieces both of the U.S. and Germany. Funeral services will commence Sunday with visiting hours from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. A funeral service and interment of cremains will be celebrated at a date and time to be determined. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
