John Taylor, 58, of Pompton Plains since 1982, formerly of Clifton, died Wednesday, July 26, 2006 at his home in the care of his loving family.
Born in Newark on October 5, 1947, John was the son of the late Fred and Jean Taylor.
While serving in the Marine Corps from 1965 to 1971, where he was promoted to Sergeant, John fell in love and married Judy Haase in April of 1971. The couple settled in Clifton, where they began their family, and later moved to Pompton Plains in 1982.
John worked as a manager at Bondland Industries in Wayne, and was a member of the Sheet Metal Union #25 in Carlstadt.
He was a parishioner of Holy Spirit R.C. Church in Pequannock.
John is survived by his wife of 35 years, Judy Taylor; his son John William Taylor Jr. of Pompton Plains; his daughter Sharon Ann Taylor of Pompton Plains; his brothers Thomas of Maryland, Robert of Kearny, and Richard of Bloomingdale; and his sisters Lori of North Arlington and Jean Ann of Bloomfield.
Funeral services will commence 8 a.m. Saturday from the funeral home, and will proceed to a 9 a.m. funeral Mass at Holy Spirit R.C. Church in Pequannock. Burial will immediately follow at Our Lady of Magnificat Cemetery in Kinnelon.
Visiting hours will be Thursday evening from 7-9 p.m., and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
