Janice R. Weston, a lifelong resident of Pompton Plains, passed on to the 19th hole Wednesday
July 26, 2006 in the arms of her family at Chilton Memorial Hospital. To all who knew her, Janice was a source of warmth and fun.
She was born on March 6, 1934 in Paterson, and graduated from Butler High School in 1952. A dedicated F/C bookkeeper at Monsen Engineering, Janice was a member of the Pequannock Women?s Golf League, a dedicated parishioner of Our Lady of Good Counsel R.C. Church, and a die-hard N.J. Devils fan. She enjoyed golfing with her husband of 50 years, traveling and visiting her family in Virginia, North Carolina, West Virginia and California.
She is survived by her husband, Charles; her daughter, Laura Reed of Buckhannon, West Virginia; four sons, Samuel of Pompton Plains, Matthew of Oakland, Douglas of San Diego, California, and Seth of Roanoke, Virginia; her mother, Margaret Riley Ricker of Moneta, Virginia; eleven grandchildren; her sisters, Linda Martin of Moneta, Virginia and Kathleen Sheridan of Tucson, Arizona; and a brother, Timothy Riley of Pequannock.
She was predeceased by her father, Joseph Stephen Riley, and a sister, Judy Eilert.
Visitation hours are Friday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral services will begin 9 a.m. Saturday from the funeral home and proceed to a 10 a.m. Mass to be celebrated at Our Lady of Good Counsel R.C. Church, 155 West Parkway, Pompton Plains. Cremation will be private.
