William C. Meddick, 82, of Pompton Plains, died Friday, February 9, 2007 at Renaissance Gardens Nursing Home with his children by his side.
Born in Toronto, Canada, William was the son of the late William and Anne (nee Curry) Meddick. Growing up in Toronto, he earned his degree in Charter Accounting at the University of Toronto.
Marrying Osa Wessman in 1952, the couple settled in Caldwell, raising two children there. To support his family, William worked as a CPA for Plumrose USA Inc. in Springfield for many years, as well as several other firms, before retiring in 1991.
A longtime member and active parishioner of St. Agnes Episcopal Church in Little Falls, William also enjoyed playing bridge, watching ice hockey and golf, good food and fine wines.
William is survived by his son, William J. Meddick and his wife Marcella of New Providence; his daughter, Susan Meddick of Tabernash, Colorado; and his granddaughters, Juliana and Cara Meddick.
He was predeceased by his wife, Osa, in 1990.
A memorial service will be celebrated 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Chapel at Cedar Crest Village in Pompton Plains.
