Stephen Holdampf Jr., 92, of Pompton Plains, died Wednesday, January 31, 2007 at Valley Hospital in Ridgewood.
Born in Brooklyn, Stephen was the son of the late Stephen and Minnie Holdampf.
Marrying Catherine Zinser in 1939, the couple raised four children together. Settling in Pompton Plains in 1952, Stephen worked as an advertising executive for Altman, Voss & Wrightsburg in New York City for most of his career.
Stephen was a parishioner of Jacksonville Chapel in Lincoln Park, and in retirement became active in RSVP ~ the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program of Morris County. He also enjoyed golfing and tennis.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Catherine; his son, Stanley of Murphys, California; his daughters, Jeannie Wirtz of Wayne, Catherine Carapelho of Forked River and Dolores Stewart of Kinnelon; his sister, Marian Powell of San Jose, California; twelve grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the First Reformed Church Cemetery in Pompton Plains.
Visiting hours will be Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
