Alice D. Adams, 85, of Pompton Plains, died Monday, January 22, 2018.
Born in Brooklyn, she was the daughter of Harold and Alice Walsh. Raised in Brooklyn, she worked for Equitable Insurance in Manhattan for several years before marrying Donald Adams. Together the new couple settled in Pompton Plains in 1962. Raising four children, she went back to work once the children were all in school, employed by the Economics Press and Chilton Memorial Hospital's Admissions Department.
Alice was a longtime member of the Pacquenac Tennis Club in Pompton Plains, and was an avid tennis player there. She enjoyed gardening as well as attending all of her children and grandchildren's sporting events and activities.
Alice is lovingly survived by her husband, Donald; her children, Brian Adams and his girlfriend Victoria Dunn, Doreen Loeffler, Karen Troast and her husband Dwight, and Lynne Dembner and her husband Alan; her sister, Margaret McKeon and her husband Bill; her grandchildren, Tamra Holzli and her husband Erwin, David Loeffler and his wife Melissa, Michael Loeffler, Mallorie Troast, Eric Loeffler and his wife Kelly, Joel Troast, Daniel Dembner, Jenna Dembner, Joseph Dembner and his wife Molly, and Kenneth Dembner-Vaughn and his spouse Stafford; and three great-grandchildren: Julia and Kaitlyn Holzli, and Simone Dembner.
Visiting hours will be Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. at the M. John Scanlan Funeral Home, Pompton Plains. A funeral Mass will be held 10 am Thursday at Our Lady of Good Counsel RC Church, Pompton Plains. Cremation will be private.
In lieu of flowers donations in Alice's memory to the Alzheimer's Association would be greatly appreciated by the family.
