Obituary of Lillian Fjotland

Lillian Fjotland, beloved wife of Odd Fjotland

Mother of Linda, Wayne and Glenn

Grandmother to Tommy, Krissy, Christopher, Nikki and Kassandra

Great Grandmother to Tori, Colton and Raelyn

Sister of Aktander, Sylvia, Telleif and Ruth

Lillian was the first born of five children to Hanna and Leif Nilsen of Brooklyn, New York. She was a beautiful big sister who nurtured all of her brothers and sisters and all of their families.

She married the love of her life, Odd. Their marriage of over 60 years is a testament of their love and an example for us all.

She was a loving and gentle mother and mother-in-law to Linda and her husband Patrick, Wayne and his wife Alice, and Glenn and his wife Cassandre. Lillian took great pride in being a loving Grandmother to Tommy and his wife Andrea, Krissy and her husband Mike, Christopher, Nikki and Kassandra and a Great-grandmother to Tori, Colton and Raelyn

Lillian was the very special person in our family. She loved unconditionally, starting and ending everyday with a kiss and an “I Love You”.  She taught her children how to be strong and independent as well as compassionate. She always had a welcoming smile and a pot of coffee brewing. Lillian would always be willing to lend an ear and listen to your troubles, concerns, offer support, laugh and cry with you and make each get together a special time.

Lillian was truly an example of Christ’s love and grace towards others. Because of her faith in Christ, Lillian is home with the Lord, free from pain, sorrow and renewed. She joins her parents, Hanna and Leif, sister Sylvia, brother Telleif and many loved ones. There will be a joyous homecoming in Heaven for Lillian. All who know and love her will miss her presence and will look forward to meeting again.

A Funeral Service will be held 12 pm Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at the Norwegian Mission Church in Paramus. Burial will follow at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus.
