Obituary of Anthony Munafo
Anthony J. Munafo, 71, of Bloomingdale, passed away on Friday, July 27, 2018 at Hackensack University Medical Center.
Born in New York City, Anthony was the son of Anthony and Jeanette Munafo. Raised in West New York, he graduated from St. Joseph's High School before studying at Fairleigh Dickinson University, and later graduating from St. Peter's College in Jersey City.
Thanks to his aunt, he was set up with Rita Ruggio at the 1967 World's Fair in Flushing Meadows, NY. The couple quickly fell for each other, and married on March 25, 1972. Anthony and Rita first lived in Ridgefield before moving to Bloomingdale in 1986, where together they raised three sons.
Anthony spent many years in Technology Sales in the tri-state area, and most recently had worked as a consultant.
He will always be remembered as the most loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He had a good soul, and would do absolutely anything for anyone. Anthony loved nothing more than being with his family, sharing his love of gadgets and spy gear, his appreciation of history, or his knowledge and skill with mechanics and classic cars. He had a great sense of humor, and a cunning wit. He will be dearly missed.
Anthony is lovingly survived by his wife of 46 years, Rita; his sons, Adam and his girlfriend Erica, Christian and his wife Allison, and Sean and his wife Christine; his granddaughters, Sophie Ann and Gabrielle Ann; as well as his brothers-in-law and their wives, sister-in-law and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are private.
In lieu of flowers donations in Anthony's memory to the Multiple Myeloma Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the Munafo family.
