Obituary of Frank J. Codiroli
Frank J. Codiroli, 92, of Pompton Plains – formerly of Pompton Lakes – died Saturday, October 6, 2018 with his family at his side.
Born in Omaha, NE, Frank was the son of Joseph and Irene Codiroli. After graduating high school, he proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and saw action in the Pacific Theater.
He married Patricia Ann McDonnell in 1962, and the couple eventually settled in Pompton Lakes, where they raised six children. Frank spent much of his career in a variety of entrepreneurial endeavors, with an emphasis on the restaurant sector. He had many talents, including playing guitar and singing, and maintained a lifelong passion for cooking. At the time of his passing, he was writing his memoirs, which he called "From Omaha to Leeds."
Frank is survived by his wife, Patricia; his children, Terri Praschak and her husband, Kurt; Jackie Thomas; Gail Cherenson; Dean Codiroli; and Donna Picciuto and her husband James; his son-in-law, Chris Robinson; his brother, James Codiroli and his wife Joan; 14 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and many loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Kathy Robinson, and four of his siblings.
Visiting hours will be from 3:30 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the M. John Scanlan Funeral Home, Pompton Plains. A funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday at St. Mary's RC Church, Pompton Lakes. Burial services will be held at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veteran's Cemetery in Arneytown.
