Joan Moran (nee Quinn), age 85, wife of the late William J. Moran, passed away on October 9, 2018.
Joan was born in Orange, NJ and lived in Riverdale since 2004, coming from Pompton Plains. She was an active member of St. Mary’s adult choir and a Eucharistic Minister. A Columbiette of the Bishop Navagh Council of Pequannock, she was also a member of the Riverdale and Kinnelon Seniors and the Golden Agers of Bloomingdale.
Joan was predeceased by her husband, William; her parents, Grace and John Quinn; and her brothers, Richard and James.
She is survived by her daughters, Diane Ganning and her husband Ronald Ganning of Hudson, FL, Patricia Moran and her husband John Van Splinter of Cape May, NJ, and Meriellen Moran of Vernon, NJ; her son, Dr. William Moran and his wife Catina of Boca Raton, FL; and her grandchildren, Cory Walz, Melinda Mallia, Erica Gyori and Chase Moran.
Visiting hours will be held 4 to 7 pm Friday, October 12 at the M. John Scanlan Funeral Home, Pompton Plains. A funeral Mass will be held 9:30 am Saturday at St. Mary’s RC Church, Pompton Lakes. Interment will follow at Our Lady of the Magnificat Cemetery, Kinnelon.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Joan’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital would be greatly appreciated by her family.
