John "Jack, Big Jack" Feeney, 79, of Pompton Plains, passed away on July 9, 2019.
A graduate of Xavier High School in NYC, Jack earned his BA from the University of Notre Dame and his JD and Masters in Lawfrom NYU Law School. He was admitted to the NY State Bar Association in 1964 and the NJ State Bar Association in 1965. Jack served as an Assistant Hudson County Prosecutor from 1965 - 1972 and practiced General Law in Pompton Plains from 1972 until his retirement in 2018. He also served as a Director of Lincoln First Bank in Lincoln Park for many years.
Jack is survived by his wife, Joanne; his sons, John "Jack" and his wife Jill, Brian, and Colin; his brothers, Hugh, and Owen and his wife Maureen; and his granddaughter, Cassandra and many loving nieces and nephews and Brother-in-Law Anthony Fratiello. He was predeceased by his grandson, Michael; and his sister-in-law, Bernadine.
Visiting hours will be held from 4 to 9 pm Thursday, July 11 at the M. John Scanlan Funeral Home, Pompton Plains. A funeral Mass will be held 10:30 am Friday at Our Lady of Good Counsel RC Church, Pompton Plains. Cremation will be private.
