Obituary of Donald Bruce Sabrouch

Donald Bruce Sabrouch, 91, of Kinnelon NJ, formerly of Collegeville PA, Hilton Head, SC and Lecanto, FL passed away Sunday, November 24, 2019 in the love and care of his devoted family.

Born in Narberth, PA, Don was raised in Collegeville, PA, after being adopted by John and Emma Sabrouch. He was a very smart man and decided in high school that he didn't need school anymore.  At that time his father insisted Don join him at his auto body business.  Donald learned the family business and in time went on to create and build Collegeville Auto Body.

Don retired at an early age and through his life enjoyed playing golf almost daily.  Don also enjoyed traveling, playing cards and spending quality time with his loving family and friends.  It was a life well lived.

Throughout it all he had the love of his life, his beautiful wife Barbara "Getty" by his side. She caught Don's eye while roller skating.  As soon as he saw her, he declared "I'm going marry that girl."  He was right and the couple married December 24, 1949.  They were married for 67 years at the time of his wife’s death on April 15th, 2017.  He always referred to her as his beautiful "Barbi".  Following Barbara's death Donald would climb into bed each night with his wife's ashes beside him, not willing to let her go.

Don and Barbara settled in Collegeville where they built a home and raised their five children.  They had a wonderful life but sadly, three of their sons would predecease them.  First their son Donnie when he was just 19.   Don and Barb leaned on each other throughout those tragedies and their love and bond remained steadfast.

His family has peace knowing that he is now dancing in Heaven with his Barbi and rejoicing with his loved ones.  Maybe playing golf again?

Don will be remembered for his love of family and friends, engaging personality, quick humor, and his interest in others.  No matter where he’d go Don always met someone new and would strike up a conversation.  Don, Dad, Poppop, friend was adored by all and his legacy of love will continue in those who knew him.

Donald is survived by his loving daughter, Debra Neill and her husband Bill; his son, David Sabrouch; his grandchildren, Douglas Sabrouch, Laura Jeros and her husband Ethan, Ryan Neill and his wife Tiffany, and Tyler Neill; his adoring great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Brody, Maxon and Madelynn; as well as his granddog Sadie Girl, who became his devoted fur friend.

A memorial service is being planned for a future date.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society in Donald's memory would be greatly appreciated.
