Obituary of Edith M Mazza
Edith M. Mazza, 80, of Pompton Lakes, passed away on May 11, 2020.
Born and raised in Watertown, MA, Edith was the daughter of Arthur and Mary Margaret Champagne. She earned her BS in Biology from Northeastern University and soon after met and married Benedict “Ben” Mazza. The couple remained in Massachusetts until 1969 when they settled in Pompton Lakes.
Edith worked as an EKG/EEG Technician for Chilton Memorial Hospital for 25 years. She loved traveling (especially to Ireland and California with her son Ken), meeting new people, spending time with her sister Marie, and being surrounded by her family. Edith was a selfless and caring woman who loved to laugh, hated to cook, and will be deeply missed. Her sons will cherish the memories of their summer trips to Cape Cod and sharing a cold pitcher of Tang lovingly made by Edith with their friends.
Edith is survived by her sons, Benedict, Jr. and Kenneth and his wife Jackie; and her brother, Arthur Champagne. She was predeceased by her husband, Benedict; her sister, Marie Bordenca; and her brother, Tom Champagne.
Due to current restrictions, a memorial service will be held at a later date.
